My budgeting approach

Write about your approach to budgeting.

Is non-existent. That’s the short answer.

I’m driven by the need for instant gratification, so I’ll spend my week’s pay every week and not save for the future.

Terrible, I know.

Sigh.

  1. Don’t feel bad. Most of us are like that. I did that all my life and am trying to keep in mind that I don’t need instant gratification. It’s not easy.
What keeps me from spending as much as I’d like is I’m writing my memoir and most of my time is spent writing it. When I’m not writing my memoir I’m writing flash fiction.
I belong to a ton of reading and critique groups via Zoom and many writing rooms as well, via Zoom. Most of these places I’ve found through Meetup.
I have to keep busy, busy, busy or I have too much time on my hands to start ordering from Amazon.
These past few times I’ve done pretty good in only buying the things that I’ve needed. Just the bare necessities.
I’m on Disability, live in Section 8 Housing and receive food stamps. I have to stay smart. Very difficult.

  2. No that ain’t bad tho. Coz some of us are knowing their bills and all. But some people like to have it all organized so that in case of emergencies there aren’t any problems. And yeah everyone ain’t same and that makes the difference.

    1. Hahhahaha sometimes we have to just accept our faults (mine is not saving) and just laugh. How are you with budgeting, Divya?

      1. I don’t usually create budgets, but I usually track my expenses.

  4. So honest. I do love me some retail therapy when I am down. But just like drinking too much, there is a “hangover” effect. HAHA
